Peter Murray, Buttercrane Centre Manager said, “Stores are responding as quickly as possible to the new date.     “And there is lots of work going on behind the scenes to bring staff back in store for training following furlough, deep cleaning and bringing in new displays and stock ready for reopening.  “We would anticipate that from Friday 30 April the majority of traders in Buttercrane will be open for business. “But the situation is still quite fluid and we will update our social channels with full lists as soon as we have that information.”     He continued, “The centre’s large anchor tenants Primark, Dunnes Stores and Sports Direct/USC are all set to reopen on Friday 30 April.

Poundland to reopen 29 stores this week - is your local store included?

Poundland to reopen 29 stores this week - is your local store included? (PA) Poundland will be reopening 29 of its temporarily closed stores across the UK this Friday (26 February), with more to follow over the next few weeks. At the start of the third natioanl lockdown the budget retail chain announced it would be placing stores in temporary hibernation despite being allowed to remain open as an essential retailer. The discount retailer closed 44 of its stores in January due to ongoing lockdown restrictions, but will be gradually opening them back up in the “coming weeks”. At the time, Austin Cooke, Poundland’s retail director said: “We learned valuable lessons during the lockdown in March about how buying patterns change as people stick to government advice to stay at home.
