A doorstep vigil for Sarah Everard is encouraged in Cornwall. Picture: Metropolitan Police Organisers of a Cornwall Reclaim These Streets event following the death of Sarah Everard are encouraging people to take part in a doorstep version this evening. Events had been due to take place across the country tonight, including in Newquay, but have been cancelled after police said they would not support such gatherings under the current national lockdown restrictions. Instead, the Reclaim These Streets group in London, which had organised the original, also now cancelled, event on Clapham Common, is encouraging people to hold a doorstep vigil instead at 9.30pm tonight (Saturday) by standing with a candle.
