The Cornwall Saints Trail cycle project is going £6m over budget Picture from file An ambitious project to create walking and cycling trails connecting up Cornwall is expected to go £6 million over budget and over time, leading to it being declared high risk. Concerns have now been raised at Cornwall Council about the Saints Trails project to build four new multi-user trails covering around 30 kilometres. It had been hoped that the new Saints Trail would follow in the footsteps of the Camel Trail, which has more than 500,000 visitors a year. The first stage of a new trail linking Perranporth and Newquay for walkers and cyclists was given the go-ahead last November, after the council’s strategic planning committee heard that it was expected to attract around 300,000 people a year.

Clusters are only shown when there are at least three confirmed results, with anywhere having between zero and two cases showing white in order to protect the privacy of individuals and prevent disclosure.
