A terminally ill cancer patient in Newark was the victim of a theft after his mobility scooter worth over £1,000 was stolen.
Derek Trigg, 70, discovered his Ambassador scooter had been taken from the Fenton Close area of Newark at around 11.40pm on Monday, January 25.
The former merchant navy seaman, who lost his wife Tina to an illness last year, had bought the black and grey scooter brand new in 2014 at a cost of £1,095.

Newark and Sherwood welcomes six officers as part of Nottinghamshire Police s Operation Reacher

Newark and Sherwood have welcomed a brand new taskforce of six officers who ve proven their commitment to driving down crime.
Since the team came into force at the start of October, they have seized thousands of pounds worth of drugs, arrested or voluntarily interviewed 17 people and taken seven weapons off the streets.

They are led by Sergeant Mike Taylor (second from the right in group photo) who has been with Nottinghamshire Police for 26 years.
He said: We are all about bringing in the bad guys. We are unrelenting and we will not stop until we find them.
