Newark Town Council agrees residents will pay extra 1.9% of tax in coming financial year

Residents will pay an extra 1.9% of tax to Newark Town Council in the coming financial year, it has been agreed.
Those living in a Band D property will pay £115.30 to the town council, an increase of £2.20.
Members of the council were all in favour of the increase, which will cover expenditure for 2021-22 â predicted to be £992,280, a rise of £33,000.

The budget, approved by full council, included money for Newark Festival and the band concerts as well as Newark In Bloom.
