Jill Abramson responded to veteran reporter Donald McNeil Jr s resignation in an op-ed published by the New York Post
McNeil, who had been at the paper for 45 years, announced he was stepping down earlier this month over complaints he said the N-word in 2019
Abramson, who was fired as executive editor in 2014, said the controversy has robbed readers of McNeil s vital COVID reporting
