Moderna and Pfizer increase the prices of their vaccines
August 3, 2021
New York Moderna and Pfizer BioNTech increased the cost of coronavirus vaccines under their new contracts with EU, according to the French minister responsible for European Affairs.
In an interview with Radio France Internationale, the minister, Clément Beaune, did not specify the exact price increases. However, the more contagious Delta virus continues to spread throughout the continent. Clement Beaune said that the price increases were justified as vaccines will be more difficult to make, and would be tailored to this variant.
His comments were in response to a Sunday Financial Times article that claimed that the price for a Pfizer BioNTech injectable had risen to $ 18.50 to $ 23, on contracts. Moderna’s prices had risen to $ 22.6
