Bachelor of Music (BM)
This is a professional degree with concentration options in Performance, Jazz Studies, Music Therapy, Music Education, and Music Composition. Approximately two-thirds of the required coursework is in music, in such areas as performance, ensemble participation, music theory, and music history. The remainder of the curriculum is fulfilled with general education courses.
Performance majors may study flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, bassoon, trumpet, horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba, percussion, piano, violin, viola, cello, bass, and guitar (jazz guitar only).
Applicants in all concentrations except Composition must audition on an instrument or voice for admission to the School of Music. See Studio Auditions for specific audition requirements.
