The New South Wales Labor Party will “tear itself apart” to decide who will lose to Premier Gladys Berejiklian at the next state election, according to Sky News host Paul Murray.
“The New South Wales government is far from perfect,” he said.
“But the two blokes who are now put in front of the Labor Party to decide are hardly spectacular fellows.”
In the wake of Jodi McKay’s resignation from the leadership, Labor MP Chris Minns and former leader Michael Daley have both announced they will be running to be party leader.
“One representing the right wing as the guy who lost the last time around leadership to the now failed Jodi McKay,” Mr Murray said.
“The bloke who’ll stand in his way is the guy who lost the last state election, and already his comments that he made about Asian Australians are haunting him; but he is the left wing candidate standing in the place of Jodi McKay.”
The Australian state of New South Wales has recorded 15 new locally-acquired cases of Covid-19 amid a record virus testing haul of more than 38,500.
