NEW ROCHELLE, NY Late night gunshots at a subsidized housing project led to an arrest and an unregistered ghost gun being taken off the streets.
Thursday, just before midnight, New Rochelle police officers on patrol near Lincoln Avenue downtown heard gunshots coming from the Heritage Homes housing complex. Police stopped Hayden Jaques-Samuels, who was leaving the area.
The 20-year-old from New Rochelle was carrying a .40 caliber unregistered gun with no serial number, according to cops. Jaques-Samuels was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon.

A bald eagle is on the mend, thanks some good Samaritans.
The bird was hit by a car on the Hutchinson River Parkway in New Rochelle Thursday night.
Several drivers stopped to help before police and an animal expert arrived.
The bird was taken to Animal Nation in South Salem for further care.
