Henry Wall is the Chief Administrative Officer and says the money will be used to connect over 4,200 homes in the area with high-speed internet. “This is going to happen very fast,” says Wall, “the time frames are tight, but we’ve been preparing a long time for this. The deceased has been identified as 17-year-old Lynnora Mikenak, also known as Lynorra Lawson, of Mishkeegogamang. The OPP and Nishnawbe Aski Nation police service responded to a Henry Street residence after reports of an assault at 7 a.m. on May 1, airlifted the victim to a nearby hospital, and arrested 32-year-old Jerry Fox of Mishkeegogamang. Fox was initially charged with aggravated assault and remanded into custody. He remains in custody and additional charges are pending, as the OPP says their investigation is now considered a homicide.

As a result of the investigation, 32-year-old Jerry Fox of Mishkeegogamang First Nation has been arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault. He’s been remanded into custody until his next court date.
