Headlight staff reports School board meets The Board of Education of the Deming Public Schools will meet for a virtual meeting 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 15, 2021. The board will move into a virtually-held executive session for discussion of pending or threatened litigation pursuant to Section 10-15-1[H][7] of the Open Meetings Act to have discussions with legal counsel on scope and interpretation of Board Policy 217 on permitting extended employment contracts consistent with Section 22-10A-21 of the School Personnel Act for all licensed school employees, and updates on current pending or threatened litigation. As a proactive measure to limit the potential community spread of COVID-19, this meeting will be by live stream only to continue the critical work of the district. The decision to cancel public forum, recognition, and board comments has been extended until further notice, therefore, only action items will be discussed on April 15, 2021.
