Attorney William Wagstaff, who filed the suit Thursday on behalf of Gordon s parents, Racquel Barrett and Maurice Gordon Sr., said Grewal s office has not presented Gordon s death to a grand jury, as required by state law, and said the office has withheld evidence from the family. The suit asks the court to award compensatory damages of $50 million, and punitive damages in an amount to be determined by a jury. Wagstaff said he hopes the necessary discovery process will allow the family to finally get answers to the questions about Junior s final moments. Gordon, known as Junior to many, was a Jamaican immigrant and a Dutchess Community College student. He s been remembered by friends for his sense of humor, infectious smile and warm personality, despite an introverted nature.
