NJ medical examiners deem abortion too regulated

NJ medical examiners deem abortion too regulated Wednesday, January 20, 2021  |  Charlie Butts (OneNewsNow.com) Spanish Not waiting for the legislature, New Jersey health officials are planning to make changes to abortion regulations that, according to the state s largest and most active pro-life organization, have nothing to do with protecting women and everything to do with profit. Since legislation to radicalize the abortion industry in The Garden State has not moved forward, the state Board of Medical Examiners, which licenses physicians and regulates the practice of medicine, has voted to repeal rules that have limited who performs abortions and where they are done.

Abortions in NJ may soon be performed by expanded medical staff

New Jersey is a big step closer to allowing an expanded approach to abortions under a proposal to roll back “outdated rules,” according to the State Board of Medical Examiners. Advanced practice nurses, physician assistants, certified nurse midwives and certified midwives already are permitted to administer medication-based termination of pregnancy in New Jersey. The proposed changes would include allowing those same medical professionals, in addition to doctors, to provide aspiration abortion care. Currently, there are about 11,024 advanced practice nurses, 4,379 physician assistants, 363 certified nurse midwives and 15 certified midwives in New Jersey who may be authorized to perform the procedure in the future, as confirmed by state officials on Monday.
