A rare magnitude 4.8 earthquake rattled New York City and its surroundings on Friday, prompting residents to seek shelter. As many as 11 aftershocks were reported, with magnitudes ranging from 1.8 to 2.0.
A 4.8 earthquake in Hunterdon County, N.J. rocked the entire region Friday, but some residents in South Jersey weren't convinced they felt the quake just about an hour north from them.
