CONWAY â A group advocating for responsible short-term rental ownership today plans to ask selectmen to hold off on enforcing a ban on STRs. The local chamber of commerce slso seeks a grace period on enforcement.
The Mt. Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce recently released a statement on the STR issue, saying it supports a grace period through Columbus Day weekend to allow STR owners and those who have made their vacation plans to include an STR stay time to adjust to the new rules passed by majority vote at the April Town Meeting.
âWe feel confident that the Town of Conway Board of Selectman will approach this issue with fairness as they begin the process of administering the will of the voters,â said the chamber.
The bill is SB 154. On April 1, Senate Republicans passed it 14-10. If there are executive orders issued from President Biden restricting an individual s ability to keep and bear arms, this bill would make it clear that the state of New Hampshire would not enforce any such orders issued after Jan. 20, 2021, Bradley (R-Wolfeboro) said in a press release issued by Senate Republicans. SB 154 will protect the rights of New Hampshire citizens to defend themselves and their loved ones, the release said. New Hampshire is among the safest states in America because we have effective law enforcement and allow people to exercise their constitutional rights under the Second Amendment.

Forty-nine year ago, Chadha was pursuing a master s degree at Bowling Green University in Ohio when his visa expired. He had a problem: newly independent, Kenya wouldn t take him back because his parents were from India and, thus, British subjects. India wouldn t take him because he was Kenyan.
Here in the U.S., immigration authorities began deportation proceedings. Then the authorities suspended the deportation under a federal law that allowed Chadha to stay in the U.S., but only if neither the House of Representatives nor the Senate vetoed the bureaucrats decision to stay the deportation.

Antrim became the first town in the state to establish a community board after voters overwhelmingly approved the measure at Town Meeting Thursday night. The board is tasked with enhancing public health, prosperity, quality of life, safety, and general welfare of all town residents. Residents passed all articles on the warrant, and all five zoning ordinance amendments passed during ballot voting on Tuesday.
It’s been legal since 2008 for a town to establish a community services and care planning board, as one might establish a conservation commission, yet no town had gone through the process until Thursday night. Select Board members gave some pushback to the proposal and questioned if there may be good reasons why other town’s hadn’t attempted it, voicing concerns about the board opening the town to potential liability and future costs.
