What is the one thing that is guaranteed to create ear to ear smiles from children during the festive Christmas holiday? It’s the anticipation of opening Christmas presents to find out what surprises Santa has in store for them each year. That’s why LNG provider, New Fortress Energy, through its foundation, was thrilled to be ending the year on a brighter note for children across St. James through its annual toy donation drive to children across the city as well as to three children’s homes.
The Blossom Garden’s Childcare Facilities, Robin’s Nest and the SOS Children’s Village, Barrett Town were excited to receive huge bags filled with gift-wrapped toys and games just in time for Christmas, as the energy provider and the St. James Municipal Corporation made several stops across the City.
Kivette Silvera, Executive Director at Food for the Poor Jamaica (L) and Joel Campbell, Community Liaison Officer at New Fortress Energy Foundation helped these ladies with their generously-packed Christmas Hamper courtesy of the LNG provider.
Six hundred families registered on the Government’s PATH programme saw a brighter Christmas this year, thanks to donations of Christmas food hampers by New Fortress Energy and local NGO Food for the Poor Jamaica, as part of the LNG provider’s Christmas outreach initiative.
The Christmas hampers were distributed in communities where NFE operates its LNG plants including communities in around Old Harbour Bay, St Catherine; the Port and Refinery Council communities in Hayes, Clarendon and in Montego Bay, St James.
