When news hit on Thursday that Nancy Hopp had unexpectedly died, I couldn’t help but feel Aurora not only lost one of its biggest cheerleaders but also a class act in every sense of the word.
"Rediscovered: Piano Quintets of Florence Price and Amy Beach” recognizes the contributions of two American women who earned their way into the male-dominated composer field at the turn of the 20th century. This Chamber Music on the Fox concert will be performed on Sunday, March 12, 2023, at 7:30 p.m. at the New England Congregational Church, 406 W. Galena Blvd., in Aurora, Ill., and repeated on Monday, March 13, 2023, at 7:30 p.m. at the First Congregational Church of Dundee, 900 S. 8th Street, West Dundee, Ill. Pianist Liang-yu Wang and the Kaia String Quartet will be featured. <br/><br/>Audiences have the choice of attending these concerts in person or virtually. The virtual viewing will be available March 14 – 28. Both in-person adult and virtual tickets are $20 and can be purchased on Chamber Music on the Fox’s website, www.chambermusiconthefox.org.
