The Coalition for Animals and New Bedford s Public Safety Departments are asking for the public s help in replenishing the city s supply of animal oxygen masks.
The supply was pretty much wiped out on March 21 when the New Bedford Fire Department responded to a fire at 303 County Street. Three people were rescued from the burning two-and-a-half-story structure, along with 24 cats. However, more than 30 cats perished in the fire.
