Anderson County s District 2 votes Tuesday to decide who its official Democratic candidate will be in the June 1 special election.
April 13 is the runoff between candidates Glenn Davis and Marian Robinson, who were the top two of seven candidates in the March 30 primary. The winner of Tuesday s runoff will face Republican challenger David Standard, who ran against former District 2 councilwoman Gracie Floyd in the 2020 general election.
Davis received 208 votes in the primary while Robinson had 118. More than 550 of a total 13,303 voters in the district cast their ballot in the election, a 4.2% turnout for the special election.
Together, the pair received more than half the votes, but neither candidate had a large enough lead to be declared the winner. As part of its reporting on the primary, the Independent Mail asked each candidate about their priorities. Davis and Robinson s answers are repeated below:
