Ames will not offer a remote campus for as many grades as originally explored, and students who will have a remote option will not be taught by district teachers.
A Nevada administrator said he feels most students in remote learning now will come back to in-person, but the district still wants to provide remote learning for those who want it.

A Nevada school principal who s been recognized as one of the best in Iowa said she s motivated every day by trying to be a good example for others and wanting people to be happy and kind.
The School Administrators of Iowa professional association last week announced Chris deNeui principal of Nevada Community School District s Central Elementary as the 2021 Iowa Elementary Principal of the Year.
“It’s one of those things when I think about this job, I feel like my whole body smiles, deNeui said.
She has been Central Elementary s principal since 2017, was nominated by peers, selected for recognition by a committee of other Iowa elementary principals and will be recognized at School Administrators of Iowa s annual conference in August, according to a news release from SAI.
She expected the Collins-Maxwell Community School District would be done providing second doses March 2.
As of that day, White said 96 people at Nevada Community School District and 100 people at Ames Community School District still needed their first doses.
She added that we have (second) doses scheduled for all the other schools to complete their series. We anticipate to be completed with everyone by the end of March.
Kathi Arnold, Ames CSD s emergency management coordinator, said Thursday, By the end of March, we have enough appointment spaces to have 100% of people interested be able to receive their first dose, and 78% having received both doses.
