Frank Sinatra was haunted by Marilyn Monroe s death, pal claims: He never got over it

The claim was made by Tony Oppedisano, who served as a member of the late star’s management team who also managed comedian and mutual friend Don Rickles. The award-winning producer recently wrote a memoir titled Sinatra and Me: In the Wee Small Hours about their decades-long friendship which started when Oppedisano was just 21. He had a special place in his heart for Marilyn, Oppedisano told Fox News. He felt she was a fragile girl who had been exploited by a lot of people. That’s part of the reason why he said, ‘Even though as pretty as she was, as attracted as I was to her, I just couldn’t bring myself to go there physically.’ That’s something she even tried to pursue with him. But he said, ‘I just couldn’t. I couldn’t bring myself to do that. I didn’t want to be another older guy who appeared to take advantage of her and then leave her flat. I couldn’t. I couldn’t bring myself to do that.’

Frank Sinatra believed Marilyn Monroe was murdered, former manager claims in book

According to Oppedisano, the movie star and singer were close friends but not lovers.   Frank felt she was too troubled, too fragile, for him to sleep with and then walk away, Oppedisano wrote, as quoted by the outlet. The author alleged that Monroe confided in Sinatra about her affairs with President John F. Kennedy and his brother Robert F. Kennedy, which ended abruptly. Marilyn told Frank she didn’t understand why they’d shut her out completely once she stopped having sex with them, he alleged. The weekend before her death, Monroe was photographed at the Cal-Neva Lodge, outside of Lake Tahoe, which was partially owned by Sinatra.

Reno became a stopping point for many gold-rushers on their way to California during the 1840s and 50s. This small town would eventually become a thriving community that would come to be known as the “Biggest Little City in the World.” The relatively small city of Reno has inspired a number of books, such as “The Roots of Reno – Northern Nevada’s early casinos and the sins it took to build them” by Al W. Moe, as well as countless articles in newspapers and magazines across the country.
