As of today, 6 April, Riga Airport becomes the first and so far only airport in the Baltic States to join more then 30 European airports employing A-CDM (Airport Collaborative Decision Making) procedures which allow for significantly improving service quality and safety for airspace users and passengers.
The introduction of A-CDM, which was a joint effort of the air navigation service provider state joint stock company “Latvijas gaisa satiksme” (LGS) and Riga Airport, ensures timely exchange of accurate information between the airport operator, aircraft operators, ground handling services, air traffic controllers and other parties involved from flight planning until the aircraft lands on the runway. This allows to schedule take-offs with greater precision and reduce waiting times for passengers, especially during peak hours. For over twenty years, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan have been at odds over the mid-Caspian oil and gas field that the former called “Kepez” (often rendered “Kyapaz” from the Russian) and that the latter called “Sardar.” In late 2020, they agreed to rename it Dostlug/Dostluk, meaning “Friendship” in their Turkic languages. On January 21, they signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) agreeing on the terms for their joint exploration and development of the field. This agreement removes the last obstacle to the construction of the Trans-Caspian Gas Pipeline (TCGP).

Malta: EU door to gas pipeline finance is shut, despite hydrogen-ready changes to plan
The European Commission has shut the door to any funding for Malta’s gas pipeline, after informing the government that its proposal for a “hydrogen-ready” pipeline fell short of a sufficient justification.
In correspondence obtained through an EU freedom of information request, the EC’s Innovation and Networks Executive Agency told Malta that its attempt to finance a €400 million pipeline with an H2-ready design lacked “justification to what extent [it] would actually be used for renewable gases”.
