Ventnor Towers is sold — and will remain a hotel

Ventnor Towers has been sold. LANDMARK hotel Ventnor Towers has been sold despite not selling at a recent auction. It failed to meet the reserve price and wasn t sold on the day of the auction, but within 24 hours there were two serious offers placed. Contracts have now been exchanged with a buyer and it looks likely the property will remain as a hotel. A spokesperson for Network Auctions told the County Press: We had good levels of interest in the property prior to auction and several prospective buyers took a trip to view. There were five bidders registered to take part in the auction.

Little Stratford House in Langley Road is set to go under the hammer at Network Auctions on March 18 with a guide price of £950,000 to £1m. A couple of years ago, plans were submitted to partly demolish the home, refurbish it, and then extend it to create a building of five flats. But a planning officer at Watford Borough Council refused the scheme for a number of reasons, including because it would have involved the loss of an historic garage.
