2 unresponsive after boat capsizes in Netarts Bay, fire chief says

Two people were unresponsive after being rescued from the Pacific Ocean off the Oregon coast Thursday.
The duo’s boat capsized in Netarts Bay and an outgoing current pulled them toward the ocean, Tim Carpenter, fire chief for the Netarts-Oceanside Fire District, told The Oregonian/OregonLive.
The woman and man clung onto the boat for as long as they could, then hit waves at the mouth of the bay and became separated from the boat, Carpenter said. Neither person was wearing a lifejacket.
Authorities on personal watercraft rescued the woman and man from the ocean and took them to shore, Carpenter said.
