give or take 40 points. so you would think, some would think it would cause the former gop president s rivals to attack him in an attempt to eat into that support, which stands north of 50% for the primary vote. yet most of his opponents seem hesitant if not totally unwilling to do so. it has been my biggest question, harry enten, over the course of several weeks, if you re losing by a lot, go after the guy who s beating you by a lot. and yet, harry, what s today s number? all right, what phil says makes a lot of sense. that s a first for him. this morning s number is minus 44 points. that s chris christie s net favorability rating among republicans. that is the worst on record for any presidential candidate within his own party, dating back since at least 1980 at this point in the primary. minus 44 points. that s why you don t attack donald trump, because if you attack donald trump, you become unpopular with republicans. it s not just chris christie at minus 44 points.

While former President Donald Trump and his team try to build up his air of invincibility in the GOP presidential primary, the fact remains that he would be facing a near-certain loss in the general election.
who has a net favorability that s positive, that s positive. it s plus three percentage points. you see e biden is well underwater at minus 14 p donald trump is well even further underwater at minus 19 points. at this particular point, we may sit on this set and be like what is rfk jr. talking about. but the fact is voters at this particular point, a good number of them, actually like him. and what s amazing about this, you hear chris christie will slam him. the people in the moderate center lane. but that s where you get the criticism from both sides from all these headlines we re getting, people who hear these things and say this isn t okay. but are the negative headlines hurting him, more broadly? not really, no. take a look at the net favorability ratings in july versus june. what you see is they re basi basically staying about the same. all those negative headlines have not really damaged his net
