The un agency for Palestinian Refugees has warned its shelters in the gaza strip are overwhelmed with displaced people. It says the facilities are now holding 600,000 palestinians, which is four times their capacity. Israel has allowed limited food, water and medicine into the territory via the rafah crossing with egypt, but isnt allowing fuel supplies, over fears theyll end up in the hands of hamas. Hamas is designated a Terrorist Group by many western governments, including the uk. The United States said it would support a lull in the fighting, but not a full ceasefire, because it said that would only benefit hamas.
