Colton’s Ford’s new single, “Stay,” is an up-tempo ballad with a haunting melancholy vibe, about how opening ourselves up to love can trigger our fears, but that vulnerability is the most important ingredient to having a trusting, intimate relationship with someone. “I think most people have issues of abandonment in one way or another,” says Colton Ford. “Mine stemmed from childhood; an absent father and a stepfather I didn’t get along with. It was one of the things that I started addressing when I first began therapy at 30.
