POKHARA, June 26: Entrepreneurs in Pokhara have called for the legalization of high-value Indian currency notes. They claim that Indian tourists visiting the tourist destinations in the region are facing difficulties due to the prohibition on the circulation of such notes.
Nepal is currently facing various macroeconomic problems such as low economic growth, truncated capital expenditure, high trade deficit, dwindling revenue, rising public debt, and falling demand. Likewise, industrial businesses have not been able to operate at full capacity, with some industries even reaching the point of closure.
KATHMANDU, May 12: Bankers have declined to reduce their interest rates for the next month despite Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) making it mandatory for them to review the interest rates every month.
