Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut on Saturday said that National Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar had told 25 years ago that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) does not want unity in the country but his party Shiv Sena realised it in 2019.
Raut was speaking at an event after a book titled "Nemkechi Bolane", a collection of Pawar's speeches in Marathi at various political rallies was released.
The Sena chief spokesperson also remembered Pawar s statements in 1996 calling the BJP s policies regressive , which would push the country backwards, but it was the Sena which failed to gauge it then.
