The Brooklyn, New York-based SVG Relief Committee, USA., Inc. says Vincentian nationals in the United States remain resolute” in their efforts to provide much-needed relief aid to their volcano-ravaged homeland.
Verna Arthur, chairperson of the Committee, told THE VINCENTIAN on Wednesday that her compatriots are leaving no stones unturned in assisting in the relief efforts. Another container was packed in preparation for shipment to St. Vincent and the Grenadines,” said the Paul’s Avenue, Kingstown native.

As St. Vincent and the Grenadines is experiencing what has been described as unprecedented circumstances” that have uprooted the daily lives” of nationals, several Vincentian groups in the Diaspora have sprung into action to aid the homeland.
In this nexus, on Feb. 5, Consul General to the United States Howie Prince took the initiative in reviving the Brooklyn, New York-based SVG Relief, Inc., established in 2013 under the leadership of his predecessor, Selmon Walters, to mobilize the USA Diaspora to prepare for and to respond to emergencies and disasters in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.”
