At a time in which theres been no cataclysmic event that forces us into reforming or renewing these institutions, but a clear recognition that the institutions are becoming increasingly less relevant and increasinglyless capable of addressing some of the very large problems and concerns that the world faces. And be so our ability to kind of reestablish momentum in the u. S. brazil relationship and to insure that it gets back on the kind of meaningful tack that i think both of our governments and our societies want is going to have a big impact on our ability to conduct this kind of long diplomacy. Because ultimately, many, many years from now as historians look back on this time, much of what we consider to be important will not be seen as important. In fact, much of what occupies our every day will fall away and become the chaff and dust of history. The times tells it this way, fbi director mccabe wrote a confidential memo last spring of the significant behind the scenes details of the firing of mccabe. His content was not reported. In the chaotic days last may after mr. Comeys erupt firing. But in the meeting at the Justice Department, mr. Rosenstein added a new detail. The president asked him to reference russia in his memo.
