Five families to represent PH in praying the Holy Rosary from Antipolo Cathedral

Reynante Tolentino, shrine rector of the Antipolo Cathedral, said for each decade of the Holy Rosary, one family will lead in the praying of the Hail Mary. The five families who will join the rosary prayer are all devotees of Antipolo’s patroness, also known as the Nuestra Senora Dela Paz Y Buenviaje. Couple Louie and Marisa Francisco from Marikina  City , one of the five families chosen to lead in praying the Holy Rosary at the cathedral, said they could not express their feelings when they were chosen to represent the country in the historic religious event that was initiated by Pope Francis.

Devotees in Antipolo City joined the rest of the country and the world in praying the Holy Rosary

(Photo by Nel Andrade) Holding lighted candles, devotees coming from various parts of the city and nearby parishes gathered outside the National Shrine of the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage in Antipolo City and prayed the Rosary as part of the Vatican-initiated marathon prayer to end the pandemic. Bishop Francis Mendoza de Leon and Shrine Rector Fr. Reynante Tolentino led the faithful in praying the Holy Rosary. The original 17 th century-old image of the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage, wearing the 1926 canonical crown, was brought down from its main pedestal for the historic occasion on May 7.
