medication and attend counseling while he awaits arraignment. crews have been workingor the clock trying to clear the railroad tracks after a deadly train derailment in ellicott city. there are still many unanswered questions. ken molestina has more. reporter: crews continue to work to clean up the mess left behind by this train derailment. handful of workers could be seen up and down the tracks. people from around the area have been pouring in throughout the evening to get a look at it for themselves. we only live a couple miles from here. we just wanted to see it for ourselves, see how bad it was. i knew it was bad and i heard where it was right by the streets. reporter: one of the reasons why the cleanup effort will take so long, you can see large pieces of debris. in this case a rail car that s been flipped over. these thanks weigh tons and crews are removing them slowly little by little. elizabeth nass and rose luis mayr, both 19 years old, were killed when t
roadway. nass was attending james madison university. mayr, the university of delaware. the teens were close friends and 2010 graduates of mount hebron high school. it s devastating for the community. mount hebron has a close-knit community and to hear of the loss of two members of our community and two graduates, it s tragic. reporter: csx officials worked throughout the day to upright the rail cars. the national transportation safety board is leading the accident investigation to determine what caused the derailment. we have no indication of what caused the actual derailment. reporter: valerie mohammed says her 17-year-old daughter recently told her she and her friends had climbed on that bridge. i brought her here today, because i want her to see how dangerous it is to walk on the train tracks and how fatal it can be. it s awful. reporter: i spoke to that 17-year-old girl. she says this today was definitely a wake-up call. never going around those tracks again.
