LISBON Lisbon baseball coach Randy Ridley said Friday was first baseman Ethan Brown’s best outing at the plate so far this season.
There was no question about that. Brown ripped a pair of doubles and drove in four runs in a 10-2 victory over Mt. Abram in a Mountain Valley Conference showdown.
“It was a good day at the plate,” Brown said. “We played a heckuva game. We knew they were the top team in the conference right now, and they were gunning for us, coming off states two years ago. Everybody wants to beat us.”
The Roadrunners struck first in the in the opening inning. Hunter Warren got on with a walk and moved to third base on Ben DiBiase’s hit and a passed ball. Warren then came home on another passed ball to give the Roadrunners a 1-0 lead.

GRAY Skye Chandler had a double, triple and two-run home run and Morgan Curtis had a double and two RBIs as Gray-New Gloucester edged Lake Region 9-8 in WMC softball action Monday.
Madi Pelletier got the pitching win for the Patriots (4-1) by scattering five hits while striking out five. Chandler’s double in the bottom of the seventh scored two for the walk-off win.
