Royal author Penny Junor said Prince Philip, who was admitted over a non-Covid related illness, would be outspoken if he felt people were making fuss over him
Prime Minister Boris Johnson today led well-wishers including MPs, journalists and charities in sending thoughts and prayers to the Duke of Edinburgh after he was admitted to hospital.
Prince Philip, 99, was taken to the private King Edward VII Hospital in Marylebone, London last night as a precautionary measure and is expected to remain there for a few days, Buckingham Palace said.
His illness is not Covid-related and it is understood that the decision to admit the Queen s husband was taken with an abundance of caution.
Philip was taken to the hospital by car before walking in unaided, with Royal sources revealing that he remains in good spirits . The Queen, 94, has stayed at Windsor Castle.
