Councillor Neil Gwynne was appointed as the deputy town mayor. Ms Dunleavey s husband, Alex, will be her consort for the year and this is the second time she has done the role. She takes over from councillor Janet Burnage, who served as mayor for two years instead of one, due to last year s ceremony being cancelled in a bid to stop coronavirus spreading.
