It has been said for a long time that a picture is worth 1,000 words, and then sometimes you actually can’t find the right words to describe the picture, or the words don’t actually do the picture justice.
Nevertheless I’m going to have a try; the picture you see on this page is of Hideki Matsuyama’s caddy. He has just replaced the flag stick in the 18th hole, the world and his wife, and their cameras, are on Hideki and his reaction to becoming the 1st Japanese player to win a major championship, having carried the weight of all the expectations from his proud nation on his shoulders, for the last 10 years.

2020 Crazy By Neil Connolly, in Golf · 23-12-2020 01:00:00 · 0 Comments
Beyond strange this year has been. Apologies, I ve been watching ‘The Mandalorian’ a little bit too much recently. Little Yoda is about the cutest thing you ve ever see on TV.
A friend of mine commented a couple of weeks ago saying that they were definitely staying up on the 31st of December, not to see the new year in necessarily, but to make sure 2020 is definitely in the rear-view mirror. Who would have thought at the start of 2020 that the norm was to walk into banks with masks on, and watching major television events is done so with canned cheering and a little crowd murmuring.

The community of Whistler has stepped up to help send one of its own to the upcoming Olympic Games in Sochi.
A fundraising event at the Longhorn Saloon and Grill last Wednesday raised close to $10,000 to help send snowboarder Crispin Lipscomb to the Games just days after he qualified.
The event included a silent auction that raised $3,800 with items donated from local businesses, as well as large donations from individual companies like Walsh Restorations, which offered up $5,000. That amount is the same amount I started my business with, said owner Mike Walsh, who donated with business partner Kuldip Kang. The story was told to me that he has supported himself on all his training and I was just amazed. I was blown away by it. We were told he needed $10,000 and made a commitment to give half of that. Whistler has always backed us and we decided to back him.
