Portlanders ask city for more flexible sewer requirements for RVs and tiny homes

Portlanders ask city for more flexible sewer requirements for RVs and tiny homes Updated 10:17 PM; Today 6:25 PM Facebook Share The Portland City Council hgot public input Wednesday on proposed rules that would allow people to legally live in an RV or tiny house on wheels parked on a single-family residential property. The proposal on the table would require people living in an RV or tiny home on private property to have a formalized sewer hook-up like what campgrounds have. Speakers largely supported allowing people to legally occupy such structures but opposed requiring the sewage infrastructure. Many who gave testimony said that requirement would displace those who are currently living in RVs and tiny homes who can’t afford to upgrade their infrastructure and would be a barrier to those who wish to live in the structures in the future.
