During its virtual regular session, the Potter County Commissioners Court received a report detailing funding and expenditures for the Interlocal Agreement for Neighborhood Planning.
Per the city of Amarillo s website, the city and Potter County collaborated in 2016 to fund and support a new neighborhood initiative through an interlocal agreement facilitating planning and community development in older, distressed neighborhoods.
A Neighborhood Planning Oversight Committee was established, according to the city, with two Amarillo City Council members and two Potter County commissioners guiding planning processes and implementation efforts while also overseeing allocation of funds. The four neighborhoods identified were North Heights, the Barrio, San Jacinto and Eastridge.
