Acting Provincial Health Officer Dr. Liland Estacion told the Philippine News Agency that as of Feb. 16, six deaths and 236 cases have been recorded, leaving health authorities "baffled" over the occurrence. (PNA photo by Avito Dalan) DUMAGUETE CITY - The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) in Negros Oriental and other government agencies/offices here are helping out the provincial government in holding the massive vaccination rollout against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) from November 29 to December 1. DTI-Negros Oriental provincial director Nimfa Virtucio, in an interview with the Philippine News Agency, said a total of 16 personnel from her office, including herself, were serving as volunteers on Tuesday, being a non-working holiday. Only a few DTI personnel would be helping out in the vaccination campaign on Wednesday as the others would have to return to work, Virtucio said. The province's Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) had earlier appealed to its member agencies to deploy volunteers for the three-day campaign dubbed National Vaccination Days.
