Early this week, UT Adviser Dharam Pal convened a meeting of all heads of departments and directed them to finish the key projects as early as possible.
The works that started in 2019 and have to be completed by April 15 include installation of a new fountain, a 30x30 metre map of Chandigarh, which is being engraved in front of Neelam Theatre using metal, stone, and concrete furniture, and uniform lighting to revamp the Sector-17 Plaza.
Aimed at ensuring smooth movement of pedestrians and persons with disability, the UT Administration has decided to make improvements in three junctions with the construction of tabletop road crossings in Sector 17.
LAHORE: To maintain the worsening cleanliness-related issues in the city, the Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has sought help from six civic agencies/departments for the provision of adequate equipment.
Since the civic departments, including the Lahore Development Authority (LDA), Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) and Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA), have not heeded the request, the coming days seem tougher for the company as well as dwellers of the city. Moreover, the company has also been restrained from using the machinery of a Turkish contractor in light of a stay order issued by the Lahore High Court, Dawn has learnt.
