A study by the Ministry of Finance found that people with non-Western backgrounds experience discrimination most often in contact with their banks. The biggest complaint is excessive checks and controls. Banks must do more to prevent discrimination against their customers, De Nederlandsche Bank said after a separate investigation into multiple reports from banking customers experiencing discrimination during anti-money laundering checks.
Dutch households made a profit of 11.3 billion euros with their joint investments in the first three months of 2024. The total value, therefore, rose to more than 180 billion, an increase of 7.8 percent compared to the same period last year. It is the largest increase since the end of 2020, when the stock markets recovered during the COVID-19 pandemic.This is evident from figures from De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB). The majority of Dutch households' investments are in investment funds. In the past quarter, they have already achieved a return of 6.3 billion euros.
