it caused your spine to be crushed essentially. and that gray could speak because everything from his neck down was basically inoperable but he was still using his neck muscles basically to breathe, to move his lungs just enough so he could breathe shallowly. basically, though, gray was slowly dying because he couldn t breathe. he was hang cuffed. he was shackled. he was in a van. they say at one point he was laying up on the seat of the van, up on the right seat, barely moving, not able to speak. he was and his legibreathing more and more shallow until the final moment they opened up the van, he was unconscious and not breathing and basically dead at that point. he was rushed to the shock trauma center here. he was in a coma for a week but did not survive it. they say all of it could have been avoided if officer william porter had just gotten medical help for gray. brooke? aloft new details coming out today in the opening statements. we ll hear obviously both sides.
officer william porter. he says that when porter opened the door, the first thing that gray said was help. that is probably the most powerful point, and the jury taking copious notes the entire time, and then porter says what s wrong? and porter says i can t breathe. do you need a paramedic? and gr gray says, yes. and then shouting tout the j jur shouting out to the jury that none of that was done. and then they e continue to say that he failed to give them trouble all along, and key details of what the prosecution is going to argue in how mr. gray was injure and that the fourth and the fifth vertebrae of his spinal column that was severed that basically from the chest down mr. gray could no longer breathe, but he could speak, because everything up was still working, and that he was breathing using the neck muscles
there s not a lot of good real world examples. in other words, it can be causing damage, especially in children. what you have found in terms of your research with children, especially the difference between boys and girls, which surprised me. we observed the neurophysiologic response cha s changes between the girls and the guys and the girls are getting much more affected than the guys. what is that from? the neck muscles might not be as well developed as with guys and the head is smaller. you re gathering this information. you ve been playing since you were 8 or 9 years old.
