Jaimes Selected in NFL Draft | Huskers Today

Football NU Athletic Communications Nebraska offensive tackle Brenden Jaimes was the first Husker selected in the 2021 National Football League Draft, as he was a fifth-round selection (No. 159 overall) by the Los Angeles Chargers Saturday afternoon.  Jaimes’ selection marked the first time since 2016 that a Husker offensive linemen was picked in the NFL Draft.   Jaimes was a record-breaking offensive lineman for Nebraska, as he started nearly every game of his four-year career as a Husker.  He started all 40 games in which he played, with his 40 career starts ranking second all-time among all offensive linemen in Nebraska history. He started the final 40 games of his career dating back to 2017, setting a program record for consecutive starts by an offensive lineman.
