There still some lingering distrust left over from the housing crisis that hasnt been fully dealt with yet so i think that is what everybody is concerned about along with the somewhat anemic Economic Growth that people are concerned that this housing recovery is not for real or its not as good as it appears to be. So we look at home prices had a very big jump in many areas in and home prices in 2013 but we are starting to see those numbers come down in many markets across the country. Foreclosures which we track are down to nearly prerecession levels. Actually we came out with the april numbers yesterday. There were 115,000 properties with foreclosure filings in the month of april. Thats down from a peak of over 367,000 in march of 2010 and we are almost back before the recession we were seeing about 85,000 foreclosure filings a month so we are getting closer to that level. That negative piece is largely gone from the market. Housing prices are going up but there is what i call a hole

One of the things that we dont have enough of are programs or grants that encourage and inspire innovation and new practices and new knowledge about this issue when were placing all of our resources in enforcement and were not complementing that with innovation, then i think were creating a situation where we do have box checking instead of new thinking. I understand what youre saying. I guess what youre saying. One thing thats disappointing to me about this is that we depend on College Campuses for innovation for so many things in our society. You have on a College Campus i dont want to pick on michigan, although i kind of would like to pick on michigan. If you were at kansas, id really like to pick on you. Your system. You have law school. You have a medical school. You are training psychologists and psychiatrists. And social workers. You have every discipline and Academic Excellence in every discipline that is needed to come together on this problem. And you hav

But assuming we can do that, and thats a big assumption, im making a big point because i think all of you in the room in addition to us ton panel, have a responsibility to try and make sure that that requisite mobilization takes place. And here, we need to begin thinking about the investment not only in the Health Infrastructure, but particularly in the Health Infrastructure ta that is going to make sure thatt we dont have a repeat of this. Not only this west africa and t the three effective countries, but in others, thats why we 200 ated half of our million response to building the median to longer term public Health Infrastructure that we think would be necessary to equip countries, to have a to e longer term sustainable capacity to respond to these sorts
