The land, which is currently overgrown and unsightly, situated next to the Morrisons supermarket on Ffordd Llanarth in Connah s Quay has been vacant for years. This week Flintshire Council began investigating the area to see if it is viable for housing to be built on it. Neal Cockerton, Chief Officer Housing and Assets said; “The site off Ffordd Llanarth is allocated for housing under the council’s Unitary Development Plan, but has been vacant for a number of years. “Following a successful bid to the Welsh Government for funding from the Land Release Fund preliminary investigations are currently underway to determine if the site is viable for housing.”

However, with cases locally now lower than they were during the second wave of the virus in January, politicians have sought answers on when the leisure centre will be restored for its original purpose.
