All the political parties in the state, including seven NCP legislators and four Independent MLAs, extended unconditional support to the NDPP-BJP dispensation, making it an all-party government for the third time in the state.
Despite having one of the highest number of political parties, the new Nagaland government is heading towards an opposition-less government with almost all parties extending unconditional support to the NDPP-BJP alliance which won the polls.
The NDPP-BJP alliance has secured a comfortable majority in the 60-member Nagaland Assembly, winning 37 seats. While the alliance's victory was a foregone conclusion, the emergence of smaller players makes for an interesting post-poll scenario.
While the NDPP-BJP is yet to stake a claim for government formation, they have received unconditional support from almost all other political parties to continue their second innings.
