(File photo) MANILA - The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) on Monday warned the public against falling for a fraudulent solicitation scheme involving people claiming to be DBM officials or personnel to collect money supposedly to allow faster release of funds for programs and projects. In a press statement, the DBM said some scammers have been drafting documents and asking local chief executives to sign the requests, identify contractors, and ask for money, under the false pretense that the release of the subject funds will be expedited soonest. "The DBM, under the leadership of Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman, condemns such fraudulent claims and activities, and vows to coordinate with proper authorities to investigate and determine swiftly those who are involved in this scam," the agency said in a statement.
