Uh, while hundreds of people were in the park gathered on this Easter Sunday, there were silver shots fired in which we responded to. We believe during our preliminary investigation that an incident or altercation amongst a group of males occurred in the park, which them to several shots being fired at this time, we don t have any suspects in custody. Updated: 10:26 AM CDT Apr 6, 2021 WVTM 13 Digital UPDATE: The victim killed in the Easter Sunday shooting at W.C. Patton Park in Birmingham has been identified as 32-year-old Areyelle Yarbrough, of Bessemer.More details released by Birmingham PD on Twitter Monday night say Yarbrough was found on the ground outside of the passenger door of her vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.BPD says one adult and four children ranging from five years old to 17 years old were injured in the shootout. Two of the children were transported to Children s of Alabama by Birmingham Fire and Rescue. The other two were taken to local hospitals by private vehicles. All five surviving victims are in stable condition.Investigators say the shooting appears to have stemmed from an altercation between two groups of males, which then escalated to the shooting in the crowded park where over 30 rounds were fired.Police believe there were multiple shooters.
